The results of the most prestigious spirits competition in the world have been announced and I’m proud to say that Australian gins did brilliantly once again!
Poltergeist’s Unfiltered gin has backed up their 2019 Platinum medal with another this year, and its 4th consecutive double gold medal. This is the first gin in the world to win two consecutive Platinum medals, an incredible achievement.
Double golds were also awarded to 36 Short for their Blood Orange gin, Applewood Distillery’s Navy Strength, Adelaide Hills Distillery 78 degrees Desert gin and Never Never’s Triple Juniper Export Strength which also won Best in Class.
So Aussie gins won 1 Platinum medal, 5 double golds (-1 from 2019), 12 gold medals (+1 from 2019), 24 Silvers (+2 from 2019), and 15 bronze medals (same as 2019). That’s a total of 56 medals, (+2 from 2019), a fantastic achievement.
