The Scurvy Sailor Cocktail

I chose The Scurvy Sailor cocktail on a visit to Eau de Vie, Melbourne. Oh boy, it stayed in my mind for weeks. Absolutely delicious in every way.

They kindly shared the Scurvy Sailor recipe (created by former employee Josh Crawford) with me:

50ml Martin Miller’s Westbourne Strength gin

50ml Eau-de-Vie home made lime cordial

1 bar spoon muscovado sugar syrup

1 bar spoon fresh lime juice

Shake and double strain into speciality glass or short stemmed goblet.
Garnish – Lime sand (lime flavoured salt)

Here’s my home-made version of the Scurvy Sailor:

50ml Martin Miller’s Gin

50ml Bickford’s Lime Cordial

1 bar spoon home made sugar syrup

1 bar spoon fresh lime juice

Cover rim of glass with lime salt (super-easy to make, will post the recipe later).

Shake ingredients together in a shaker and double strain into glass . Drink!

Let me know if you try this at home. I’d love to know what you think!
