The Can-Can martini is a modern interpretation of a martini that came about because of St Germain elderflower liqueur that launched in 2007.
The delicate flavour and aroma of St. Germain work extremely well with gin, and to be honest, most spirits. Bartenders often refer to it as the ‘ketchup’ of the bar for that reason! You might like this recipe too.
For the Can-Can Martini we use equal parts dry vermouth and St. Germain liqueur to create a deliciously approachable drink suited to the novice martini drinker. It’s worth noting that it still packs a punch in the alcohol department owing to the 40% ABV* in the St. Germain, you have been warned!
Ingredients for a Can-Can Martini
60ml G’vine Nouaison Gin
15ml St. Germain Liqueur
15ml Dolin vermouth
Lemon peel for garnish
Method
Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker, then add ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds then strain into a chilled martini glass. Add a twist of lemon for garnish.
Enjoy!
