Day three of the competition and a trio of Apothecary gins are up for grabs!
Apothecary gins are crafted by second generation distiller Kristy Lark Booth at Killara Distillery.
There are currently three gins in Killara Distillery’s range. Kristy distills the 10 botanicals separately before blending them together, known as fractional distillation, allowing her greater flexibility and control.
The main botanicals in Apothecary gin are juniper, coriander, several different types of citrus and some native Australian botanicals. Kristy has also cleverly incorporated rose petal and olive leaf into her recipe.
It is a classic dry gin with crisp juniper and citrus flavour, balanced with delicate floral notes and a lovely mouthfeel.
I like it in a dirty martini.
Apothecary Triple Juniper gin
Kristy created this gin by tripling the amount of juniper used in the original recipe. Bright and crisp, this one is for lovers of juniper forward gins.
Apothecary Navy Strength gin
You know how much I love a Navy Strength gin. Kristy used her original recipe but has increased the ABV to 57.5%. Delicious!
